September is my favourite month up here. I have said it for years.

The summer visitors head home. The ski season hasn't started yet. And for a few weeks Summit County belongs to the people who actually live here.

The aspen trees start turning. That gold against the pine and the mountain backdrop is something you have to see in person at least once. Hiking and biking trails are empty. Restaurants have tables. The air gets that crispness to it that tells you winter is coming but isn't here yet.

It is the valley at its most honest. No crowds, no chaos. Just the mountains doing what they do.

I want to tell you what a Saturday looks like when you own at Kindred Resort.

You wake up and the slopes are right outside your window. Coffee in the private owners club before anyone else is on the mountain. Grab your skis, gondola at the base, first tracks at 9am.

Lunch at Goodz Tavern downstairs. Afternoon in the spa or the fitness center. Hot tub on the pool deck with the mountain behind you while the sun starts to drop.

Dinner at Lulas with the family. Back upstairs in the elevator. Fire on. Done.

That is not a vacation. That is just a Saturday.
