This picture, seven years ago- when we packed up our lives, said goodbye to the people we loved, and made the move from Illinois to Tennessee.
Leaving wasn’t easy. We left behind family, dear friends, familiar places, and a community that had shaped so much of our lives. Starting over in a new state was exciting, but it was also a little scary. We had to build a new routine, find our favorite places, and create new friendships from the ground up.
Today, Tennessee truly feels like home. 🏡🥰
We’ve built a life we love, met incredible people who have become like family, and watched our kids grow and thrive here. One of the biggest surprises has been discovering that your heart has room for both—cherishing where you came from while fully embracing where you are now. And here’s something I’ve learned: the relationships that are meant to last don’t disappear because of distance. The people who were our true friends back in Illinois are still our friends today. They celebrate your happiness, stay connected, and pick up right where you left off. Distance doesn’t weaken genuine friendships—it reveals them.
Moving taught me that you don’t have to choose between your old life and your new one. You can honor your past while creating an amazing future.
If you’re thinking about relocating, I understand the emotions that come with it because I’ve lived them. It’s more than buying a house—it’s building a new life. And I can honestly say… sometimes taking that leap leads to a life you never imagined.
Illinois will always hold a special place in our hearts, but Tennessee has become home. ❤️
