🏡 : What if someone you’ve never met claims an interest in your home? It sounds like something out of a movie, but it can happen.

Imagine a previous property owner dies and the home is transferred by someone believed to be
the only heir. Years later, another heir comes forward and claims they also inherited an interest in the property. Suddenly, the current homeowner could face a challenge to their ownership—even though they had nothing to do with the original problem.

That’s why title professionals research a property’s ownership history before closing, looking for issues that could affect your property rights. But not every title problem can be found in the public records. An owner’s title insurance policy can provide protection against certain covered title issues that weren’t discovered before closing and surface later—including certain claims involving unknown heirs.

Yesterday evening, several team members from our Chattanooga, Knoxville, and North Georgia offices took part in an Employee Appreciation Event to celebrate all their hard work and accomplishments.
