The South Nashville bear spotted this week was struck by a vehicle along Harding Place but is believed to be alive.

Samson, the three legged Dane!

What started as an unfortunate collision with a flower pot while chasing a deer resulting in a fractured leg, fortunately revealed signs of osteosarcoma in the same bone. Amputation was really the only option to keep the big guy around. He’s healing well and getting around way better than we ever expected. His life may be slightly different now but I can promise you all he is getting plenty of cheeseburgers
