Pumpkin spice and everything nice! My favorite fall decor comes straight from the garden (or local pumpkin patch :)). Drive anywhere for a few minutes and you’ll likely see farmer stands along the road selling bright pumpkins, gourds and squash. Get your home into the spirit of fall by setting out bowls of apples, walnuts, oranges, gourds and squash, full pots of colorful mums, and show off clippings of autumn tree branches or bushes. Big, bright leaves laid out on an autumn tablecloth with maroon, gold, or brown taper candles can cozy up your dining or kitchen table. And if you can find pinecones, throw them in a Ziplock bag with some cinnamon-y essential oils and shake, then remove and set in small baskets around the house.

Happy beautiful October!🍁Hands-down, this is one of my favorite months of the year. Besides the beautiful changing colors of the leaves, it seems that October offers us endless bright, blue skies and many breezy days. Octobers in the South are more temperate and a gentler introduction to winter than the ones I grew up with (and I’m not complaining). It is also an opportunity for reset. What habits and goals would we like to carry into the last quarter of the year? How can we end our year strong? I know I have unmet goals lingering. Some are important to me and some have simply waned in importance as my year has unfolded. As unexpected shifts have happened in our real estate market (and have done so quickly), I have had to reevaluate the landscape of my business and stay on top of the changes that are out of our control. Some of the way things were done a few months ago are not achieving the same results now. So, what do we do? It’s a discussion I’m having with lenders and colleagues almost daily. And many of us are working very hard and staying committed to offer our clients the most current, up-to-date advice. So, here’s to us all staying supportive of the changing times, perhaps personally and professionally, and deciding what habits trail with us into the last few months of 2022 and which ones no longer serve us and could be shaken off before we round the corner into 2023.❤️

Leaving summer with a little sand in my (greying) hair. Exchanging the long, hot days of summer with shorter days and cooler evenings is one of my favorite parts of the year. Just yesterday Kate was telling me just how “lovely” autumn is and how “blistering” summer was. She was also saying that while she will miss swimming and time off of school, she is excited for bonfires and baking more, one of our favorite things to do once the weather turns. It always seems to fly by quickly and before we know it we are preparing for the holidays so I’m going to try my best to be intentional and not be too busy to enjoy the crisp breeze and rustling leaves!

Biking at the beach is one of my favorite pastimes. I love how the tropical flora creates canopies and offers shade from the Florida heat. Lots of people relocating to Middle Tennessee from out of state don't always know that we are only 6 1/2 hours from some of the most stunning beaches. While 30A is my favorite spot along the coast, lots of friends and clients have started visiting Gulf Shores and Orange Beach to the West, or Port Saint Joe to the East. We are lucky to have so many beautiful options to vacation within a day's drive from Nashville. 🙂
