🚧 Wastewater Improvement Project Traffic Update for the week of September 21, 2026 🚧

Route 28 will be CLOSED between Eldredge Park Way and Monument Road, with the work zone at the intersection of Route 28 and Finlay Road.

Finlay Road will continue to be CLOSED to through traffic between Kettle Pond Road and Route 28 on Monday. All traffic wishing to access businesses on Finlay Road, as well as those on Giddiah Hill Road and so on, please follow the detour down Eldredge Park Way to Lots Hollow Road and on to Finlay Road. This will open up once the crew has completely moved off of Finlay Road and on to Route 28, likely end of day Monday.

Traffic heading into Orleans on Route 28 will be detoured down Monument Road to Main Street. Those heading towards Harwich/ Chatham will be detoured to Main Street and on to Monument Road. The detour route will be thoroughly marked with signage.

Pond Road and other such connecting side roads to Route 28 will be CLOSED to thru traffic with no access to Route 28 at least through Monday.

Residents on Route 28 and its side roads between Finlay Road and Monument Road will be required to go south to Monument Road in order to head towards Orleans center.

Uniformed police officers and/or traffic flaggers will be present as needed to help maintain safe travel through the work zone or any detoured routes.

This is an ongoing, multi-phase project with no fixed completion date. Schedules may be adjusted due to weather, field conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances. Please expect delays and plan accordingly.

Orleans has it all!

The Town of Orleans has expanded its electric vehicle charging network and now owns and maintains 18 charging ports across three locations, all part of the ChargePoint network:

10 Old Colony Way - 2 DC Fast Charging ports (up to 120 kW) and 2 Level 2 ports
139 Main St - 6 Level 2 ports
Nauset Beach Parking Lot, 250 Beach Rd - 8 Level 2 ports

Stations can be located and checked for availability through the ChargePoint app.
