🏡❤️ HAPPY CLOSING DAY! ❤️🏡

In the middle of all the chaos our little community has been facing, we were still able to pull off a closing this morning! 🙌🏼

Thankfully, this sweet home in Castleberry was spared from the storm damage, and we got to celebrate a little HAPPY in the midst of a difficult week!

And let me brag on my buyer for just a minute! This girl has her ducks in a row, and I am SO proud of her! Making big girl purchases and making big moves! 👏🏼🏡❤️ What an exciting accomplishment at such a young age!

And my sellers… goodness, they deserve some happy this morning! Even while dealing with their own mess from the storm, they have spent this week helping others in our community right and left. That’s just the kind of people they are. ❤️ I’m so thankful they got to close this chapter today and have a little blessing of their own in the middle of it all.

There’s still so much work to be done around us, but this morning was a sweet reminder that even in the middle of the hard stuff, there’s still plenty of good to celebrate.

And THANK YOU Thompson, Garrett, and Hines for keeping us on track for closing!! Congratulations to my buyer and sellers! So happy for ALL of you! ❤️🔑

Another answered prayer for our community! ❤️🙏

These precious angels from Samaritan’s Purse are here in Brewton, ready to lend a helping hand to those affected by the storm!

They are offering FREE assistance with debris cleanup, chainsaw work, and temporary roof tarping for homeowners with little or no insurance, based on need and volunteer availability.

I continue to be overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity pouring into our little town. People are coming from near and far, giving their time, their energy, and their hearts to help people they’ve never even met.

There is still so much work to be done, but what a blessing to know we aren’t facing it alone. ❤️

One last post tonight. ❤️

Many of you know how very special the Alco community is to me. Just a few nights ago, I shared a house I had listed there, along with some precious old family pictures where my mama grew up.

Today, that house is pictured in the top left. 💔

And sadly, it’s just one of so many.

The Alco community was hit especially hard by this hurricane. Driving through those familiar streets and seeing the devastation is almost more than my heart can take.

I’m so incredibly thankful that people are okay. I know things can be replaced and lives cannot. And believe me, I don’t take that blessing lightly.

But goodness, it’s still heartbreaking.

These aren’t just houses. They’re homes. They’re childhood memories, family gatherings, and generations of stories. And for a little community like Alco, where so many families have such deep roots, this kind of devastation just hurts.

If you say your prayers tonight, would you please say an extra one for the people of Alco? For the families facing overwhelming damage, for those who don’t even know where to begin, and for everyone working so hard to help them.

We have so much to be thankful for, even in the middle of so much heartache.

Alco has always been a special little place. And it always will be. ❤️🙏

I cried when I saw this today. ❤️ Dozens and dozens of them.

Our little town has been through so much these past few days. The damage is heartbreaking, and everywhere you turn, there seems to be more of it.

But I also know how fortunate we are. As devastating as the structural damage has been, I know it could have been so much worse. Buildings can be repaired. Trees can be cleared. Homes can be rebuilt. Lives cannot.

And today, seeing all of these trucks and linemen who have traveled from who knows how many miles away to help our little town brought tears to my eyes.

People are pouring in from so many different states. Linemen working tirelessly to restore power. Church groups showing up to help. Food trucks feeding people. Complete strangers giving their time, resources, and energy to a community they may have never even visited before.

It is overwhelming in the most beautiful way. ❤️

We took some snacks to these linemen today. Such a small gesture, but I honestly didn’t know another way to say THANK YOU.

Thank you to every single person who has shown up for Brewton and our surrounding communities. Thank you for leaving your own families and homes to help us put ours back together. Thank you to the churches, volunteers, first responders, utility crews, and everyone quietly doing their part.

I have always been proud of where we live, but these past few days have reminded me that the very best part of a small town isn’t the buildings or the streets. It’s the people.

We have a long way to go, but we are surrounded by so much goodness.

The 7PM curfew for the city limits of Brewton will be in effect this evening until daylight tomorrow morning. Utility crews have been working tirelessly to remove downed poles and power lines, however, most roadways are still only partially open. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation. We will continue to work at full staffing as most of the city is still without power and other resources.

My heart is heavy seeing the condition of our little town after this hurricane. ❤️

I’ve been out and about today, checking on as many properties as I can safely get to.

I have little to no phone service right now, so if you’ve tried to reach me and haven’t heard back, please know I’ll update you when I can.

More than anything, I want to know that my people are okay. ❤️ If you’re able to see this, please check in when you can.

As heartbreaking as it is to see the damage, one thing I know for certain is that I have never been prouder of our little town. When times get tough, this community shows up. Neighbors helping neighbors, strangers lending a hand, and everyone doing what they can to help put things back together.

We have a long road ahead, but there’s no place I’d rather call home. ❤️
