One of the biggest mistakes I see people make is believing they need to buy their forever home right off the bat.
The problem is that mindset causes a lot of people to sit on the sidelines waiting for a house that checks every box, when in reality that’s not how most people end up where they want to be.
For a lot of homeowners, the house they’re living in today isn’t the house they started in. It’s the result of a series of moves that happened over time as their needs changed, their income grew, and the equity in their home gave them more options.
That’s why I’ve always believed the first house doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to put you in a better position than you’re in today.
Every situation is different, but Rob and Sabrina’s story is a great example of what can happen when you’re willing to take that first step instead of waiting for everything to line up perfectly.
Congratulations again to both of you on the sale of your home and the purchase of the next one. Thank you for trusting me to help guide you through such an important move.
If you’re wondering whether buying now, selling now, or simply staying put makes the most sense, send me a message. Sometimes all it takes is a conversation and a plan to figure out what the next chapter could look like.
