With a keen interest in residential construction and a formal education in engineering, Tom brings a unique and practical skillset to each property negotiation. Total commitment, hard work, and honesty are essential ingredients for Tom when providing clients with representation and guidance through every step of a real estate transaction. Focused on providing the best possible customer service for
his clients, Tom grew up in "The Lanes" of Amagansett when there were more potato fields than homes. He has actively owned, built and managed residential properties in the area for more than 25 years. His determination to make a difference in the local real estate industry stems from his natural love of the East End, along with a keen interest in residential construction and a formal education in civil/environmental engineering. After graduating from Tufts University, Tom and his wife moved to California, where he worked as a civil engineer and building contractor for several large design-build firms (CH2M Hill, Ltd., Camp Dress & McKee, Inc. As a program manager, he oversaw construction projects for a variety of private, municipal and federal (EPA, DoD) clients. Tom returned to the East End in 2004 to become the managing partner and general contractor for a custom-home building joint venture. Known for his attention to detail and ability to execute, Tom later joined a private property development team in Amagansett where he worked as the owner's representative for a variety of high-end residential and commercial development projects. In 2008, Tom accepted a position as head of facilities and manager of stadium operations for a football (soccer) club in England. There, he oversaw multiple stadium renovation projects and developed key management initiatives and relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to deliver a comprehensive facilities program for the business. Tom is knowledge-driven and totally client-focused. Equally comfortable and "at home" in both office and building site environments, he is adept at fielding and solving "unexpected problems" as they occur. Over time, he has developed a coterie of experienced and trustworthy subcontractors and service providers. If you have questions concerning new-build and/or renovation possibilities for your property investment, Tom would be happy to share the benefit of his more than 30 years in the business. When time allows, Tom enjoys surfing and water sports. Those special in his life include his two teenaged "adult" children, and his dear wife whom he has known since they were teenagers themselves!
