Donât be a lazy seller! While you can certainly still sell homes âas isâ here in the South Shore, if you put in a little effort and time before listing, it will go a long way to selling your property for top dollar and as quickly as possible. Here are 3 tips on how to prep your home to sell with those goals in mind:
1. Declutter - get a dumpster from Thompson Waste Removal/DiscountDumpsters.net and throw away extra stuff in your house. If you have things you will need in your new home, consider getting a storage unit. Your home should be free of personal photos and have clear countertops, tables, and dressers. Closets should be tidy and simplified.
2. If you have painted your house in the last 3 years, touch it up. If it's been longer than that and is looking a bit rough, consider freshly painting your whole house with a neutral color. Call Shelly at Littlefield Painting for a quote.
3. Clean your house. Yes, this needs to be said. Besides the obvious floors, bathrooms, and kitchen, itâs important to do a deep clean of heating ducts, blinds, ceiling fans, light fixtures, and exterior windows. If you donât want to do it yourself, hire Gislaine and her crew at Mayflower Maids DBA W&G Best Cleaning to come clean it.
BONUS: Curb appeal matters! Fix up the exterior of your home with some fresh mulch, switch out any broken bricks, and trim trees and bushes. And if your home doesnât have any curb appeal, get some! Call Brett at South Shore Lawn Care and he can help you out if you donât want to do it yourself!
