Local Love: 71º West Atlantic Steakhouse in Plymouth

If you’re in the mood for a good steakhouse night, 71° West is one to add to the list.

Right on the waterfront, it has one of the best settings in Plymouth. If you can snag an outdoor table on a nice day, the view alone is worth it.

We started with the bread service because obviously we have priorities, then moved on to the main event: steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Safe to say, nobody left hungry.

The atmosphere makes it a great pick for date night, a celebration, or just an excuse to order a really good steak with a waterfront view.

And judging by that first photo, I clearly hated every second of it. 😂

Have you ever heard of “The Starbucks Effect?” No, it's not about how many lattes are standing between you and a down payment. 😅

Essentially, it says this: homes within a quarter mile of a Starbucks increased in value by 96% between 1997 and 2014. The national average over that same period was 60%.

But here's the part I find really interesting - it's not the coffee shop that causes the increase. Starbucks has a whole real estate team whose entire job is to identify neighborhoods already showing signs of growth. Their analysts are doing masterclass-level economic and demographic research to determine up-and-coming areas before anyone else does.

So when a Starbucks shows up, it's less of a cause and more of a confirmation. The neighborhood was already on its way up - and now you have proof. In fact, some real estate agents, builders, and investors watch out specifically for building permits from Starbucks as a sign of where to take a closer look.

That being said, Starbucks also closed 400 locations in 2025. Analysts are starting to ask the question in reverse. If a Starbucks moving in signals a neighborhood on the rise, what does a Starbucks moving out signal?

The consensus so far is that one closure probably won't move the needle. But two or more in the same area is probably worth paying attention to.

Their menu changes with the seasons, using locally sourced ingredients, but no matter what time of year you visit, everything is fresh, flavorful, and made with intention.

If you go, do yourself a favor and start with the honey butter, just trust us. And right now, the Chicken Milanese is back on rotation, which means you absolutely need to order it. Its crispy, lemony perfection is easily one of our favorites on the summer menu.

Looking for one more family adventure before summer winds down?

The Adventure Park at Heritage Museums & Gardens in Sandwich is such a fun way to spend a day on the Cape. Think ropes courses, climbing obstacles, swinging bridges, and zip lines high up in the trees, with different courses and difficulty levels to tackle along the way.

It’s such a fun way to get outside, challenge yourselves, and find out VERY quickly which member of the family has a fear of heights. 😂

Our girls had a blast working their way through the courses, cheering each other on, and testing just how brave they really are.

If you have adventurous kids aged 7+ and you’re looking to squeeze in a fun family outing before fall takes over, put this one on your list.

With back-to-school season in full swing, I got to thinking: Realtors and teachers actually have a lot more in common than you might think.

- We're both professional people-people.
- We answer approximately 7,000 questions a day.
- We repeat ourselves… often.
- We somehow keep track of a million moving parts.
- We have days where absolutely nothing goes according to plan.

If you know us, you know we LOVE a good client appreciation event!

We’re always looking for fun things to do for our clients that they’ll genuinely enjoy, and we found the perfect one this summer.

While out with the kids, I noticed that Toy Story 5 was coming out in June. It must be because I’m a millennial, but I immediately got so excited and decided right then and there that we were going to rent out a movie theater and invite our clients to the movies. 🎬

And that’s exactly what we did, with the help of our amazing sponsors, Attorney Derrick Fernandez of TitleBiz and Brandi Sharp of CMG. If you’ve done a deal with us, you know these two very well, and you know just how awesome they are at what they do!

In true Ashley & Casey fashion, we got so caught up catching up with our past clients (who we should probably just call friends at this point ) that we only took about FIVE photos the entire event. 😂

Yes, we learned our lesson. From now on, we’re hiring an event photographer for all of our events so we can actually document them properly!

Despite the serious lack of social media proof, we had an absolute blast. Thank you to everyone who came out, enjoyed the movie, and spent the day with us. We’re so grateful for each and every one of you!
