Well… Mother Nature gave us a pretty good reminder this past week. 😬

We got A LOT of rain, and unfortunately, a lot of people lost power right along with it.

So, this feels like a pretty good time for a friendly homeowner reminder:

Go check your sump pump!

Make sure it’s working. And if you don’t already have a battery backup, it might be worth adding one.

It’s one of those things that’s really easy to forget about when everything is working exactly as it should... and a whole lot harder to ignore when there’s water in your basement. 😬

Getting your house ready to sell can feel very strange.

Because for years, you’ve been making it feel like yours. And then suddenly I’m telling you to put things away, clear off the counters, paint your favorite walls, take down some of the personal stuff, and make it easier for someone else to picture living there.

And I know that can feel a little backwards and sometimes...quite sad.

But getting a house ready for buyers doesn’t erase everything that happened there. The birthday celebrations, holidays, weeknight dinners, dogs on the couch, kids running through the kitchen, people gathered around the table… none of that disappears when the family photos come down. ❤️

We’re just getting the house ready to sell.
You get to keep everything that made it home. 💞

I say a lot of things in a day... some more important than others. 😂But “I have good news” is absolutely one of my favor...
