Trivia-What Preceded This Building?

This pretty two story brick building was built on W Grand River Ave 100 years ago! When it was built it was called the Lincoln Hotel and also held the First National Bank of Brighton.

Through time it was a busy restaurant. In the mid 1950s it became a famous Brighton landmark restaurant and watering hole known as the Canopy Restaurant. It was well known throughout southeast Michigan because of its location on the busy Grand River Ave route to Lansing. It operated until about 1989. It was a familiar dinner stop for businessmen and families when traveling the Detroit to Lansing route.
