“I’ve been in real estate for 45 years covering the local areas of Ridgway, St. Marys, DuBois, Brookville, Brockway, and more. The agency evolved over the years into Network Realty and then was purchased in 2006 by Dave Inzana. I came with the agency; it was a package deal! Something that’s changed over the years is the size of the contracts. Back then, contracts were one or two pages and today they can be up to 14 pages. Seller’s disclosures didn’t even exist in the 1980s so a lot has changed over the years. I find the challenge of finding someone the best fit house for them great fun, which is why I’m still here. There are some families I’m on the third generation of selling homes to. Brockway is such a nice town to live in; I understand why so many people are trying to move here. We have low crime rates, a great school district, and properties are often well-kept. People don’t always understand what’s involved in selling their home. There are so many different kinds of contracts now which is why an agent is helpful; they are a safe-guard for people in this process. You don’t always know all the little details to look out for, but your agent will. I think being a smaller agency is to our benefit and I believe in our service to the community. We know the local market as we’ve been embedded here for so long. My best piece of advice to a family thinking about buying their first home: get pre-qualified with a local brick and mortar lending institution. Houses are going so quickly, time is of the essence. In this market, you must be prepared right away. Buying a house can be stressful but it can also be fun.
