🏘️ What's New in the Neighbor"HOOD"?
Chicago continues to invest in our neighborhoods, and there are some exciting real estate developments happening across the city!
🏡 North Lawndale is welcoming 27 new for-sale homes through the Missing Middle Housing Initiative, creating more opportunities for homeownership.
🏗️ Woodlawn continues to grow with new mixed-use developments, including housing, hotels, retail, and community spaces surrounding the Obama Presidential Center.
🏢 West Englewood is seeing long-vacant properties transformed into offices, restaurants, and job training centers, while Lincoln Square has a new redevelopment opportunity that could bring new housing and commercial space.
🚉 Planning is also underway for future transit-oriented development in Avondale, along with community planning efforts in South Chicago, Bronzeville, and Archer Avenue that could shape future housing and investment opportunities.

🏡 Good Morning, Facebook Family!
I’ve been getting a lot of questions about Chicago’s new HomeGrown Program, and honestly, there is a lot of information floating around right now. Let me simplify it for you.
The HomeGrown Program can provide qualified buyers with up to $50,000-$70,000 in assistance toward purchasing a home. That’s huge! However, it’s important to remember that this is a limited city-funded program, and the funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
A few quick facts:
✅ You can work with your preferred licensed lender.�✅ You do NOT have to be a first-time homebuyer.�✅ Eligible properties include single-family homes, condos, townhomes, duplexes, and 2-flats (owner-occupied).�✅ Buyers must complete a HUD-approved homebuyer education course.�✅ Buyers must contribute at least 1% of the purchase price from their own funds.�✅ Program stacking may be allowed with other eligible assistance programs, depending on guidelines and lender approval.�✅ Expect a 30-45 day closing timeline, not a quick close.
One thing I want buyers to understand: having a pre-approval and finding the right property quickly will be key because these funds are expected to move fast.
If you’ve been thinking about buying but cash-to-close has been your biggest obstacle, this program may be worth exploring.
