🏡 Brookline inventory is up, but there’s more to the story.

If you’ve been house hunting in Brookline or Chestnut Hill and feeling like there’s more to see, you’re not imagining it. Inventory is sitting near multi-year highs across several local ZIP codes.

But compared with the national average, there’s still a lot less available:

🇺🇸 National average: 11.7 homes per 1,000 households
📍 02445: 7 homes per 1,000 households
📍 02446: 4.3 homes per 1,000 households
📍 02467: 6.9 homes per 1,000 households

And even those local numbers need some context. At the end of August, 22 of the 43 single-family homes on the market in Brookline were listed above $4 million.

So while buyers may have more options than they’ve had in recent years, depending on what type of home you’re trying to buy and what your budget is, the data may not apply specifically to what you’re looking for.
