The bulky waste curbside cleanup in Brooklyn Center will be held from March 31 to April 10, 2025. The city is divided into ten zones. Each zone has its own day for pickup. You can check the HRG Website for additional information or use the interactive map to find your pickup date. www.hrg-recycling.com/bulky-waste
Acceptable items include old/unusable furniture, mattresses, carpets, general household junk (up to 100 lbs. per item), vacuum cleaners, and appliances.
The cost of the bulky waste curbside cleanup program has more than doubled in the past five years. The Hennepin Recycling Group agreed to limit the amount of materials collected to reduce costs. Minor changes include:
General junk and household building materials: The pile is limited to ONE level truck bed (generally 4’ x 8’ x 2’).
Unusable furniture: Limit TWO.
Mattresses or box springs: Limit TWO.
Appliances: Limit TWO
The hauler will leave behind items exceeding limits. Residents will need to arrange and pay for separate disposal.
Electronics (TVs, computers, etc.), hazardous materials, paint, concrete, railroad ties, and tires are NOT accepted. However, you may dispose of hazardous materials and paint for free at the Hennepin County Drop-Off Facility, 8100 Jefferson Highway, Brooklyn Park. They also accept electronics and tires. Some items require a small fee.
Have material out by 7 a.m. on the day of collection in your zone. Trucks will only go through your area once. However, there will be three different types of trucks - one for appliances, one for bulky items, and one for regular trash. Each truck will come at a different time on your collection day.
If you have questions, please submit them through the Brooklyn Park HRG Recycling app, email [email protected], or call Recycling at 763-493-8006.
