Yesterday, we celebrated the official book launch and signing of “From Sweetening the Table to Sweetening the Deal: A History of Billeaud Companies” by author Dr. Lana Henry at our main office.
It was wonderful seeing so many faces come together to meet Dr. Henry and grab their signed copies. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate this major milestone in the Billeaud family and company history.

A PROUD DAY FOR BROUSSARD – PRESENTING OUR HISTORY TO THE CITY COUNCIL

Tuesday, we had the honor of presenting a copy of From Sweetening the Table to Sweetening the Deal: A History of Billeaud Companies by Dr. Lana Henry to the Broussard Mayor and City Council.

For more than 150 years, Broussard has been home to the Billeaud family and the heart of everything we have built. It felt only right to share this piece of our shared history with the community that has meant so much to us.

We are grateful to the Mayor and City Council for welcoming us, and to everyone who has been part of this story from the earliest days of the Billeaud Sugar Factory to the Acadiana of today.

IT'S HERE – FROM SWEETENING THE TABLE TO SWEETENING THE DEAL: A HISTORY OF BILLEAUD COMPANIES

We are thrilled to announce the publication of our company history, written by Dr. Lana Henry and published by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Press as part of the Louisiana Legacies Series.

This book is nearly a decade in the making and it tells a story that begins in 1839, when Martial François Billeaud and his family boarded a ship in La Rochelle, France, and set sail for a new life in Louisiana. What followed is a nearly 200-year journey of family, resilience, and community from sugarcane fields to the commercial corridors of Acadiana.

The book is now available for presale at the UL Press website. We invite you to explore a piece of South Louisiana history that belongs to all of us.
