Happy Mother’s day!

Hope everyone had a great day celebrating their mother’s yesterday.

Here photographed is my mom & wife. I’m exceedingly blessed to have them both in my life…

Mom
My mom was the type of mom – if you wrecked your bike and skinned your knee and came crying, she would say, “Rub some dirt on it and get back out there.” (I’m not sure if she ever actually said that, but you get the picture.) She wanted to raise her sons (4 of us) to be tough. She sacrificed everything to give us an idyllic upbringing. Unbelievable how she got us to every practice and game of every sport, every season and never missed church 3 times a week. She would sew our suits, plant a huge garden, can the harvest (I was scared to death of that pressure cooker). And when God called our family into ministry, she again gave up everything to live in a bus (no home for 10 years) and travel the country singing gospel music for the past 45 years. Now as she and dad face all of the challenges that come with aging, she continues to face it with undaunted resilience, courage and faith in God. Best mom ever!

Wife
Mother to our 3 children (and one in heaven we never met [from a miscarriage]), Sherri gives 110% daily to our kids. She’s mentored plenty of other mothers and their children through the homeschooling organizations she’s founded, served on boards, taught, etc. Without at all being a helicopter, she still moms the 2 adult children lovingly. And our youngest gets attention like she’s our first or only. Recently when a situation presented itself, God asked us to be a temporary guardian for a young boy and Sherri answered God’s call to that assignment & has fulfilled it with passion every day since. She brings love and joy and creativity and spontaneity and a settled faith to our home every day.

I get a front-row-seat to not one, but TWO Proverbs 31 women! Love you both!

Plainfield or Brownsburg?
Both are excellent towns. I've sold homes in both for 30 years. But they are not the same. Choosing the wrong one for your lifestyle can mean years of small frustrations that add up.
Here's my honest take:
Brownsburg has history, reputation, a school system and sports culture that is genuinely special. If you want an established community with deep roots and long-term stability, Brownsburg delivers.
Plainfield has quietly built something remarkable. Better downtown. Better dining. The Carlucci Center. A trail system that ties the whole town together beautifully. And airport access that Brownsburg simply can't match.
I live in Brownsburg. I'll be the first to tell you Plainfield deserves a serious look.
I wrote up a full honest comparison; commute, schools, home prices, community feel, and who each town actually fits best.

Most people know me as a Hendricks County Realtor.
This week, I stepped into a bigger room.

I guest-hosted The Todd Huff Show (one of Central Indiana's most listened-to conservative talk programs) and tackled two topics I feel strongly about: the affordable housing illusion in Washington, and the rise of antisemitism in America.

On housing, my take is direct: "Federal affordable housing just means the government's in charge. Kind of like whatever they're in charge of gets more expensive." I break down the two bills currently moving through Congress, why institutional investors and foreign capital are turning America into a nation of renters, and why the American dream of building wealth through homeownership is worth fighting for.

On antisemitism, I speak from conviction as a follower of Jesus Christ who has walked with Him for over 50 years: "To be anti-Semitic is to fall for the lies of the devil." I trace the historical patterns, the ideological movements driving it today, and why the Church needs to take an honest look at its own role in the conversation.

If you have ever wondered what drives me beyond real estate, this is a good place to start.

Are federal housing policies making homes less affordable? And why is antisemitism surging in America? Guest host Tony Reffeitt provides his insight.

Hendricks County home prices are up 7% year over year. Median rent is north of $2,000 a month. And while inventory has improved, the most desirable towns are still competitive.
So what does that actually mean if you're planning to buy here in 2026?
Tony put together a full breakdown of what the Hendricks County market actually looks like right now. Pricing trends, days on market, neighborhood-level differences across zip codes, and a buyer strategy guide based on real local data. Not national averages. Not Zillow estimates. Actual Hendricks County numbers.
Whether you're relocating from out of state, moving from Marion or Hamilton County, or buying your first home, this is the market context you need before you start touring.
30 years. 1,000+ transactions. This is the kind of insight that comes from actually living and working in Hendricks County.

In 2025, I had the opportunity to graduate from the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy (and earlier the Brownsburg Resident Academy), which gave me an inside look at how our local law enforcement operates across the county.
The professionalism, training, and commitment I witnessed confirmed what many families already know — Hendricks County is an extremely safe, well-run community and a great place to raise a family.
I recently wrote a full breakdown on safety, community life, and what makes Hendricks County such a strong place to live.
If you’re considering a move here, it’s worth a read.

Central Indiana Housing Market Snapshot – January 2026
As we move through February, the early data from January gives us a clear picture of how the year is starting.
Here’s what MIBOR reports for single-family homes across Central Indiana:
• Inventory is up 17% year-over-year
• New listings are slightly lower than last year
• Closed sales are up 9%
• Pending contracts are up 8%
• Homes are averaging 50 days on market
• Median sale price remains steady at $300,000
What this means:
Buyers have more options and more room to negotiate than they did a year ago. Demand is still present, but the pace has slowed slightly.

Sellers can still achieve strong results, but pricing and preparation matter more than ever.
Real estate remains hyper-local. Some neighborhoods are moving quickly. Others are adjusting.
If you’re planning a move in 2026, I’m happy to walk through what these numbers mean for your specific area.
