6 Things To Do With Kids In The Golden Isles This Summer (That Aren’t The Beach) ☀️🌴
1. Hiking Trails 🥾
One of the best ways to explore the natural beauty of coastal Georgia. Download the AllTrails app to find kid-friendly hiking and walking trails throughout Brunswick, St. Simons, Jekyll Island, and Darien.
2. Marshes of Glynn Libraries 📚
Our local library system offers FREE summer programs that are educational, interactive, and fun for all ages. Perfect indoor activity for those extra hot or rainy days.
3. Bird Watching Along Hwy. 17 🐦
One of our favorite hidden gems. If you’re heading from Brunswick toward Darien, check out the towers in the marsh along Hwy. 17. It’s a peaceful spot to watch birds and experience the natural wildlife that makes the Golden Isles so special.
4. Makers Brunswick 🎨
A creative studio in Downtown Brunswick offering an art café experience plus hands-on classes where kids (and parents) can learn new crafts together.
5. Tree Spirits of St. Simons 🌳
A local favorite for good reason. Exploring the tree spirits turns a simple walk around St. Simons into a fun treasure hunt while helping kids practice map-reading and observation skills.
6. Indoor Rock Climbing 🧗
Perfect for adventurous kids and a great way to beat the heat. This local non-profit climbing gym in Downtown Brunswick offers climbing for beginners to experienced climbers, including a climbing cove designed for younger kids. (Must be 4+ to climb.)
Living in the Golden Isles means there’s always something to explore beyond the shoreline ✨
