You know what's funny?

Ask most people when the best time to visit Gatlinburg is, and they'll immediately say October.

I get it. The fall colors are incredible.

But if you've spent enough time in the Smokies, you know there's a strong argument for spring.

The waterfalls are flowing harder than they will all summer. Wildflowers begin covering the forest floor. Wildlife becomes more active. The mountains slowly transition from winter brown to fresh shades of green.

And perhaps best of all?

You can often enjoy it without the massive crowds that arrive later in the year.
