Fall has begun—but in the Smokies, it doesn’t arrive all at once.

It moves through the mountains in waves.

First the highest ridges begin to turn. Then the color works its way down through the valleys, along the creeks, and across the forests surrounding the Retreat—stretching the season all the way into the first week of November.

Which means if you thought you missed your chance to plan a fall escape, you haven’t.

Come slow down beneath the changing leaves. Hike the mountains. Share a hammock. Gather around the fire. Let someone else handle the plans for a few days.

There is still time to experience fall at Three Little Bears Retreat—but availability is getting limited as peak color approaches, which lasts through the first week of November.

Book your fall stay now and come see the Smokies change around you.

Have you booked your fall getaway yet? 🍂

Fall color is about to take over the ridge here, and mornings turn cool enough for coffee by the fire pit. It’s our favorite stretch of the whole year. 🤎

Your guide can pack the week with hikes, Camp Cookery, and a private fireplace waiting at the end of the day.

Reserve your fall dates: https://3littlebearsretreat.com/lodging

Hiking the ridge or relaxing by the fire pit, what's your favorite fall activity? 🤩

What does your Airbnb have planned for your family tomorrow?

At Three Little Bears Retreat, your stay is only the beginning.

This holiday season, join our guides and head into the Smokies on our pre-Polar Express Ride morning "Reindeer Safari"—a winter wildlife adventure in search of the great elk herds of the mountains.

And when you return?

Easy Waterfall Hikes. Holiday dining. Christmas crafts. Seasonal workshops. Cooking experiences. Fireside evenings. Mountain adventures—and a Retreat calendar designed so you can spend less time planning and more time actually being together.

The Polar Express may be what brings your family to Bryson City.

We want the rest of the trip to be what they remember.

Don’t just book somewhere to sleep.
Book the Christmas story your family will tell.

Ditch the vacation rental and let us build those core memories for your family.

You probably don’t need another date night.

You may need a few days where neither of you looks at a clock.

No schedules to coordinate. No reservations to research. No deciding what to do next.

Just a long fall weekend in the Smokies designed around being together again.

Fireside Couples Escape | October 29–November 1

Wake up to waterfall mornings.
Take the long way through the mountains on an aspirational fall drive.
Hike beneath the last colors of the season.
Come back to fireside evenings, good food and a little Halloween costume party fun.
Then slow everything down with our signature Sunday Campfire Brunch before heading home.

It’s part adventure, part retreat—and intentionally light on decisions.

Because sometimes reconnecting isn’t about planning a better date.

It’s about getting far enough away from the noise to remember how much you actually enjoy each other.

Late October also brings one of the final chapters of fall in the Smokies, as the color settles into the valleys and creek bottoms around Bryson City.
