Hillbilly Hot Dogs in Lesage, West Virginia is one of the strangest and most fun roadside stops you’ll ever eat at. The whole place is built from old school buses, scrap wood, and whatever else could be found lying around. It feels like a hot dog stand mixed with a backyard junkyard and a hillbilly playground. Their famous “Homewrecker” is huge...a 15-inch hot dog that weighs about 3.5 pounds and is stacked with chili, slaw, nacho cheese, jalapeños, and just about everything else they have. If you finish it in 12 minutes, you get a T-shirt and serious bragging rights. The walls are covered in license plates, odd signs, and even flowerpots made from toilets. You can eat inside a painted bus or even get married in their Weddin’ Chapel. It’s a true West Virginia original!

It’s ridiculous to develop our state parks which if you haven’t heard is a proposal for Florida. As a Florida native born & raised I’ve seen enough of our beautiful state developed. It’s time to stop. For one thing if we need more golf courses, which I’m of the opinion, we don’t; why doesn’t the state go by the ones that closed them to state golf courses?

CALL TO ACTION - Florida State Parks at 850.245.2157, option #3 to register your disapproval of this plan. They are registering opinions Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. It was fast, simple, and the woman who took my call encouraged me to share this. Let’s all call this week to stop this nonsense!
