Do you live in the country and have your home connected to a septic system? If so, today is not the day to do any laundry, take long showers/baths, or even run the dishwasher. After all that rain, it is best to use as little water as possible to reduce the risk of overloading your septic system and causing a back-up of sewage into your home. Head on out to the laundromat if there is laundry that can't wait. Leave the dishes in the dishwasher and run it tomorrow. And if there are several of you in the home, space out your shower times and keep them short (less than 5 minutes). Always turn off the water while brushing your teeth, not just when we have soggy yards.
