This past Friday our Director of Safety Services, Jonathan Connors, led a Confined Space Entry and Mock Rescue training for one of our clients, Mollenberg-Betz, Inc. Mollenberg-Betz’s Service Plumbers and Boilermakers were able to gain hands-on knowledge and are now readily prepared if they ever need to execute a confined space rescue. Trainings like this are a good reminder of the real-life scenarios employees may potentially find themselves in, and it’s important that they feel confident in the process.
Jonathan started off the training with a thorough classroom session, explaining the hazards of working in confined spaces, how to limit dangers, and what to do in an emergency. He then walked the trainees through the rescue step by step in this hands-on demonstration.
Mock drills, rescues, etc. are some of our favorite trainings to do at Great Lakes. Visual learning is so effective and really allows employees to picture themselves conducting it in real emergency scenarios. Whenever we get the chance to provide this type of training, we are happy to share our knowledge and expertise. It’s critical information to have in many fields of work. If your job involves working in confined spaces, having the proper training can mean the difference of life or death if/when a real-life emergency occurs. We want all trainees to feel confident in their skills by the time we leave and make it a priority to provide top-notch training.
