For all of our new followers, I figured it was time to officially introduce myself and share the story behind Buffawix Candle Co. 🕯️💛
I’m Kristine — born and raised in Western New York, originally from the small town of Eden, NY. Buffalo has always been home, and honestly… so has hard work, community, and probably a slight obsession with good smells. 😂
Before Buffawix Candle Co., I spent almost 16 years in medical sales, and my college degree is actually in speech therapy (which surprises a lot of people). Like so many others during COVID in 2020, life suddenly changed. I was furloughed from my job and eventually learned my position was eliminated.
So during one of the craziest times in the world, a small idea turned into my “pandemic baby” — Buffawix Candle Co. ✨
What started as pouring candles at home quickly became an official LLC, and now years later we are proudly creating clean-burning, toxin-free soy candles inspired by Buffalo, nostalgia, humor, local traditions, and all the things that make WNY special. 🦬
Our goal has always been simple:Make the best clean-burning candles for Buffalo families while creating scents and products that make people smile.
Since starting, we’ve grown more than I ever imagined. You can now find our candles in ALL locations of Rustic Buffalo, The BFLO Store, our football candles are carried in 30 Tops Friendly Markets locations 🏈, and we also do a ton of wholesale collaborations with amazing local businesses throughout WNY.
But what means even more to us is the community side of this business. ❤️
Buffalo truly is the City of Good Neighbors, and being able to give back has become one of the biggest parts of Buffawix Candle Co. Over the years we’ve helped with countless local fundraisers, memorial causes, pediatric cancer fundraisers, community events, benefit baskets, small business collaborations, and random acts of kindness projects throughout WNY.
We’ve created candles inspired by Buffalo foods, sports heartbreak 😂, weather, inside jokes, and all the quirky things only Buffalonians understand.
At the end of the day, I’m still just a local girl who took a scary life moment and turned it into something meaningful — and I truly couldn’t have done it without all of you🤍
