I tried out for two things in high school. Did not make either one.

I was convinced I’d be great on the flag team in high school.

Baritone saxophone weighs approximately one million pounds, flags seemed like the obvious answer.

Then the rifle team 🤷‍♀️

Long story short. Some people are meant to just watch the parade and cheer.

I don’t try to convince my clients of anything.

People think that’s passive. I think that’s the whole job.

A client once looked at me after a showing and said “ Well aren’t you going to try to close me?”

And I said… I don’t sell that way.

Then I asked him if he liked the house.

He said no.

So I said… then why would I try to close you on a house you don’t like?

Just like that, something shifted. I could see it on his face. He trusted me. Completely. Right there on the spot.

You can’t talk someone into being ready. But if you slow down long enough to really hear them, they get there.

And when they do, they trust you with the whole thing.

Not just the transaction. The whole thing.
