🚨 LLA Alert! 🚨 A lake goer has reported a suspected algae bloom on Lake Lanier by Bald Ridge Creek near BR6 (across from the Girl Scout camp). 🦠

Always AVOID swimming if you notice ~
💧 Discolored water
💧 Unusual smell or odor
💧 Green or blue scum

Once an algal bloom appears, there is little that can be done until it naturally goes away, but it’s important to document the occurrence. These blooms can make people and pets sick through skin contact, ingestion, or inhalation.

If you suspect a harmful algae bloom (HAB), you can report it to LLA by visiting lakelanier.org or contacting the Georgia Environmental Protection Division. ⬅️
