Thinking about moving to Winder, Georgia? Here are a few things I’d want to know first.

Winder has a lot going for it—Downtown Winder, Fort Yargo State Park, convenient access to the Highway 316 corridor and a community that continues to grow. Fort Yargo alone provides a substantial outdoor recreation option right inside Winder.

But growth comes with trade-offs, including increased development and transportation challenges. Barrow County reports that its population grew 20% between 2010 and 2020, and work continues on infrastructure along the Highway 316 corridor.

So I have a question for the people who actually live here:

Has Winder’s growth made it a better place to live—or do you miss the Winder of 10–20 years ago?

I’d especially like to hear from longtime residents.
