Bobby McGees Restaurant located at 107 S. First Street in Burbank, 1990s. It was the 18th restaurant in the chain. Source: Burbank Public Library.

Bobby McGee’s was a supper club-disco chain founded in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1971 by nightclub owner and restauranteur Bob Sikora. The servers at Bobby McGees dressed up in costumes and stayed in character for their entire shift. At its peak, Bobby McGee’s had 24 locations reaching from Arizona to Australia.

The one in Burbank closed in 2001 and the chain closed all locations in 2006. This location is now home to BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse.

It’s a local issue, but yes, this is supposed to be the busiest time of the year. I really hate that word. “suppose” Rates today are edging towards 7%. If you would like a weekly market update shoot me a DM to set you up. The worse that will happen is you’ll be informed and maybe get a newsletter once in a while. (I do them myself because it seems everyone else uses the same stock info. Like you need me to tell you what this year’s “IT” paint color is and a recipe for brownies)

Pending home sales fell 5.4% in June 2026 and were down 0.3% from a year ago, as elevated mortgage rates and record-high home prices continued to challenge buyers. Contract signings declined across all four U.S. regions month over month, though the Northeast and Midwest posted modest annual gains.
