Last year brought record-breaking home prices, market shifts, and economic ups and downs. Single-family home prices hit an all-time high, while condo prices dipped. More homes were listed and sold, but activity remained below long-term trends. Overbidding increased, and interest rates surprised many by ending the year higher than they began.

She works tirelessly to make sure all of the bases are covered in every step along the way. Her list of contacts in the industry is enormous, from other agents to contractors and stagers. This is in addition to her kind personality and ease of accessibility. At times I have wondered why agents get such big commissions, but Debbie deserved every penny, so much so, we increased her percentage towards the end of the sale. Meet Deborah Elowson

Debbie is a highly trained realtor but, first and foremost, she’s a people person. From her 20-year first career in corporate marketing and account management, to her past 15 years in the real estate industry, Debbie has found that what brings her the most joy is making her clients happy.

While the saying may go, “Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard. Live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft,” in 1978, Debbie moved to San Francisco from her New York upbringings, and she hasn’t looked back since. In 1998, she moved to Hillsborough with her husband and young son, and since then has immersed herself in the community of San Mateo County. Today, Debbie is an ongoing contributor to numerous associations and organizations, including Hillsborough Schools Foundation, SolMateo, Caminar, and San Mateo County Health Foundation.

Debbie started her real estate career in 2004 as a full-time assistant to a top producer, during which time she learned the skills essential to becoming a high-achieving agent. She obtained her real estate salesperson license in 2007 and became an independent sales associate in 2008. Her work ethic earned her a spot among the top 100 producing agents in the Peninsula with former Brokerage Coldwell Banker, and top 3% of agents worldwide. In early 2019, Deborah joined Compass, a technology-focused Brokerage comprised of experienced, local experts.

Whether they partner with her to buy, sell or lease their home, clients have remarked that what they appreciate most about working with Debbie is her highly cultivated, far-reaching network.
