After managing 100+ short-term rentals, I’ve learned:
✔️ Pet damage is rare (about 1 in 100 stays)
❌ But pet hair is everywhere — from bedding to furniture!

Guests Leaving Early? Don’t Forget This Important Step.
If you're a guest at a short-term rental and need to leave early, you must initiate the cancellation—not the host. Hosts can't cancel on your behalf without it affecting their account.

When guests initiate the cancellation:
✔️ The host's calendar reopens for rebooking
✔️ Refunds (partial or full) can be processed per the cancellation policy
✔️ Everyone benefits from transparency and fairness

In my recent case, the guest left early without canceling. This blocked my calendar, and although the policy allowed a 50% refund, I wasn't obligated to pay it—but I did.

Know the policy. Protect your stay. Respect your host.

Hosting a vacation rental? Don’t forget to lock up your spare supplies and linens! 🔐
Some guests may take “souvenirs” or let their kids build forts with your extras yes, it’s happened (with the family dog too 🐶⛺️).

On a same-day turnaround, this meant an emergency laundromat trip and extra help just to get ready for the next guests. 😩

Pro tip: Keep all backup items in a locked closet to avoid unexpected chaos and stay guest-ready at all times.

Air conditioning wasn’t even considered.
These days, I’m shocked when I visit homes kept at 80°F year-round! 😟
