Holy pierogi. What a night. Absolutely, without a doubt the (second) best rainbow I've ever captured over Pittsburgh. The conditions could not have been more perfect this evening.
I saw that there were spotty rain showers in the forecast for this evening, but it was mainly clear, so I had hopes of a rainbow. As the evening wore on, it was looking less likely. Then all of a sudden a little cell of rain started moving right towards the city, so I decided to try my luck.
I got to the West End Overlook just as the sun was coming out, but the rain wasn't there yet. It was, however, making a beeline directly towards the city. I felt a few raindrops, and instantly there was a rainbow forming over the North Side. Not long later, this was the scene.
It was AMAZING. One of the brightest rainbows I've ever seen, much less captured. Full on sunlight, a nice steady rain, and my goodness...what a sight.
I have a bunch that I'm going to share, but wanted to start with this one, as the double rainbow is the clearest and the main part was the brightest. But just wait...I'll have some with mammatus clouds as well.
Just...wow.
