Can you believe it’s been two years since we brought the Hotel Melrose back to life? 🎉

The support from Grand Junction has been amazing. Because of you, the Melrose has become more than just a place to stay—it's a part of the community again.

And because of that success, we’re dreaming bigger.

We are currently working on a concept to expand the hotel into the empty lot next door. But we aren't just going to slap up a modern box. We want to build something that feels like it belongs.

The Vision: We want to take that empty space and build a new addition that matches the historic soul of the original 1908 building. The concept image below shows how we would connect the old and the new with a modern glass atrium, adding more rooms and amenities without losing that classic charm.

Instead of another parking lot, we see a vibrant extension of the history we all love.

Tell us what you think: Do you like the way the modern glass connects the two brick buildings? Is this the right look for the next chapter of the Melrose?

Drop a comment below! We want to build what this community needs. 🏗️❤️

This episode is fully educational — no projections, no pitch. Just clarity and fundamentals.

The 1% Rule doesn’t work anymore — costs have changed, and so must the math.

In this episode of Builder’s View, I break down how Fort + Home’s factory-built approach restores financial viability by cutting costs 20–25% and improving rent-to-cost ratios — without raising rents.

This is how attainable housing pencils again in Colorado.
