3 members from the Rocky Mountain Association of REALTORS attended the National Association of REALTORS Legislative Meetings in Washington DC this past week. The three members that attended were, Jake Masters our Rocky Mountain Association of REALTORS 2026 President representing RMAR at the conference, Gary Shea who serves as First Vice-President of the Montana Association of REALTORS, also a National Director and serves on the National Association of REALTORS Public Policy Coordinating Committee, Jennifer Shea RMAR board of Directors, MAR State Director and serves on the National Association of REALTORS Meeting and Conference Committee.
The three attended numerous meetings with topics covering everything from Small Association Roundtables, Safety issues, Risk Reduction issues, Professional Standards updates, Professional Development Trends, Market trends and statistical information, Public Policy Issues, Legislative Issues and many other topics of discussion. They were fortunate to sit in on the General Session with keynote speaker Doris Kearns Goodwin who is a renowned Presidential Historian and writer.
All three were assigned to visit Senator Tim Sheehy with other REALTOR Members from Montana to discuss upcoming legislation that effects property owners and the real estate industry. Affordable Housing was one of the top discussions amongst us.
All REALTORS from all states visited Capitol Hill on Thursday June, 17th to speak to their Senators and House of Representatives. Our Montana REALTORS were divided into separate groups who visited Senator Steve Daines, Senator Tim Sheehy, Congressman Ryan Zinke and Congressman Troy Downing.
It was a week of great discussion and an abundance of information to bring back to our state and local associations.
