Golf cart and ATV information

When are Golf Carts and ATV's allowed on Byron streets? They are allowed when a driver (18+ years of age) has been issued a City permit to drive them. Each driver is required to get a City permit in order to operate them off their personal property (with the exception of a golf course). You will need to have the permit and your ID available when stopped by law enforcement. With the number of negative calls we have received about golf cart driving, we have asked law enforcement to check for permits.

Fareway Stores, Inc. hosted a ground breaking ceremony today for a new store to be located at 1072 4th Street NE in Byron. The location will provide for an approximately 21,000 square foot Fareway grocery and Spirits & More store.
“We are excited to bring Fareway to Byron and appreciate the city staff who helped make this project possible,” said Fareway President and CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “Fareway provides an unmatched, full-service meat department; farm-fresh produce; low, competitive prices; and the highest level of customer service. We look forward to serving area residents in the near future.”
"The City of Byron appreciates the investment by Fareway to develop the property and provide our residents with a local grocery store," said Byron Mayor Daryl Glassmaker.
“We are excited to welcome Fareway to the Byron business family and community as a whole,” said Byron Chamber of Commerce President Jameson Hanson.
Construction has started, with expected store completion in late summer 2020
