Last week, I shared a little about who I am.
Today, I want to share how this journey actually began.
Some people find real estate.
I have always felt that real estate found me.
It started one evening while I was watching a home buying show on TLC with a friend.
As the episode unfolded, I kept pointing out what the buyers should be looking for, the questions they needed to ask, and the red flags they should not overlook, often before the show addressed them.
Finally, my friend looked at me and said:
“You need to be in real estate.”
At the time, it felt like a simple observation.
Looking back, it was a turning point.
That conversation did not create an interest in real estate. It revealed something that had already been there.
Real estate had been woven into my family history long before I ever earned a license. I understood more than I realized, and I had a natural curiosity that made me want to keep learning.
But knowing I belonged in the industry did not mean the path was handed to me.
I had to build the road while walking it.
There was no step-by-step guide. No one sat me down and explained how the entire system worked. I had to ask questions, study, seek out answers, and learn through experience.
Those early years shaped more than my career.
They shaped the kind of leader I wanted to become.
I knew that when I had the opportunity to help others enter this industry, I wanted to give them more support, more knowledge, and a clearer path than I had been given.
That belief eventually became part of the foundation for Diversity Real Estate Investment.
What began with a television show, a curious mind, and one honest observation became a career, a company, and a mission much bigger than I could have imagined that evening.
Sometimes the people around us recognize our gifts before we do.
