Data centers are coming closer to where people live.

A new Realtor.com® report found that the share of home sales within five miles of a large data center has more than doubled since 2018.

But people are not necessarily moving toward data centers. More data centers are being built in communities where people already live.

So far, nearby data centers have not shown a clear impact on home values. Still, as these facilities grow and move into new areas, it is something buyers and homeowners should keep an eye on.
