Life is slowly returning to normal, or more accurately, becoming "the new normal", however different that is. One thing that's not new is mortgage payments, and the ends of the moratorium and forbearance that saved so many people from financial disaster means halted foreclosures will proceed and paused mortgage payments will be due again--soon. COVID's repercussions continue to send shockwaves through the world:

The end is near for the mortgage forbearance program and the foreclosure moratorium. Here's what that means.

And the winner of the 2019 Snowpocalypse Now! Photo Contest is ...

Before we get to that, this contest was a smashing success, technical issues aside (we fall upon our sword for any responsibility as Facebook's Events were where some photos ended up and some were found in the post in the feed). Nevertheless, the clear popular winner was this photo from Kirsten Hammer:

Screenshotted here is the moderator's view of all of the voting and it's included here for transparency (Camano Island/Stanwood Homes & Lifestyles "liked" each entry to consider them counted, and the winning tally including that "interaction" was 11 as seen following).

Congratulations Kirsten! We will be in touch to get your prize to you--it was announced that it would be a gift card from a certain coffee company, but if you so choose, we will give a shout out to and be patrons of a local coffee place of your choosing.

Thank you to everyone for playing and be safe out there, it's slippery! See you all next snowfall.

Snowpocalypse Now! Photo Contest -- Post Your Photos In The Comments
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nearly one year ago, we had a rather unexpected snowstorm here in 98282 and it caught many of us by surprise. Camano Island/Stanwood Homes & Lifestyles sponsored two winners tying for first place in a Facebook community-judged photo contest.

Today we will be doing the same thing to celebrate how much--or for some of us, how little--we learn from our generally somewhat limited experience with snow in the Pacific Northwest.

Please post your best photos summarizing or representing what this snowstorm means to you. Note that this doesn't necessarily have to be pictures of snow: it has to be a picture of what you think best signifies our current weather situation and how people are dealing with it.

Surprised by it? Or did you take the meteorologist seriously and plan for it? Either way, this should be fun. Winner of the contest is the person posting the photograph that gets the most number of interactions (likes, loves, laughs, etc.). Contest winner will be determined 6 pm Sunday, February 10th, 2019. Enjoy and keep safe, folks!
