Obtaining a mortgage loan to purchase a home does mean you will need fair to good credit (depending on the lender) and an income.

Lenders want to see steady ACTIVE employment. This means work history, W2s, tax returns, 1099s (if you are self employed) - all things income. I can put you with lenders to help you bring your credit up to readiness for a home loan, but you will need to have a job. If you have been writing off a lot of things on your taxes, as a self employed individual, you still have options, as long as you’ve been making regular deposits into a bank account.
