📍State law requires owners of apartment buildings with three or more units that have wood-framed exterior elevated elements to complete their first Exterior Elevated Element (E3) safety inspection by January 1, 2026.
California’s E3 laws (SB 721 and SB 326) help keep balconies, decks, and stairways safe. They make sure these structures are regularly inspected, maintained, and repaired to protect everyone who uses them.
