I need my memory repaired...
I found a survey drawing that shows bearings to the 1/4 degree, and has distances to the one-hundredth of a foot.
Are those two measurements compatible, significant numbers?
Way back in my mind I seem to remember that 1/4 degree is compatible with distances to the tenth. Am I remembering correctly?

Surveying Important Formula

1. Horizontal Distance
Used to convert slope distance to horizontal distance:
👉 Depends on slope distance (S) and vertical angle (θ)

2. Difference in Elevation
Calculates height difference between two points:
👉 Positive = uphill, Negative = downhill

3. Elevation of Point
Finds the RL (Reduced Level) of a new point:
👉 Add elevation difference to known point

4. Angle Sum Property
Used in traverse/survey polygons:
👉 Total interior angles = (n − 2) × 180°

5. Law of Cosines
Used in triangulation surveys:
👉 Finds unknown side using 2 sides + included angle

6. Area of Triangle
Calculates land/plot area:
👉 Uses two sides and included angle

7. Curve Length
Used in road/railway curve design:
👉 Depends on radius and central angle

8. Chainage
Distance measured along a survey line:
👉 Starting point + measured distance

9. Degree Conversion (DMS)
Convert angle formats:
👉 Degrees ↔ Minutes ↔ Seconds
