Fraud is rampant and happening all around us. This instance is in a city in my county of Lee.
FRAUD ARREST
On June 1, 2023, the Fort Myers Police Department was called by a concerned neighbor who reported an unfamiliar female later identified to be Suenahmie Meoshie Bradford in the home next door and walking the property. Officers arrived and spoke with Bradford who made claims to the Officers that the home was abandoned and was now in her possession. Bradford provided a forged Quit Claim Deeds to Officers in an attempt to legitimize her claim.
The case was assigned to Detective Dietz who learned during the investigation that Bradford had not only attempted to file a false deed for the property in question at the Lee Clerk of the Court Office, but also attempted to file Quit Claim Deeds for two other homes in the City of Fort Myers.
This was done in an attempt to steal the property rights from the homeowners. Detective Dietz verified with the Lee County Clerk of Courts Office that Bradford herself, attempted to file the deeds and even made threats to file a complaint against staff if they did not comply with her request. The deeds were being held for legal review by the Clerk’s Office when Detective Dietz contacted the Clerk’s Office. All of this was being done without the knowledge of the homeowners.
The Lee County Property Appraiser’s website estimates the values of the three homes that Bradford attempted to steal to be over three million dollars collectively.
An arrest warrant was requested totaling a slew of felony charges to include Grand Theft, Filing False Documents Related to Real Property, and Uttering Forged Deeds.
Bradford was arrested on August 30, 2023, for the (10) Felony violations.
