s the canals (over 400 miles of them) were dredged and building began. Fort Myers is located just south of Cape Coral and is a short hop over the Caloosahatchee River via one of three bridges. Heading further south on US41 (Tamiami Trail) there are the communities of Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Estero, Bonita Springs and Naples to name a few.
