Participating Capitola Village businesses have hidden eggs within their stores, and families are encouraged to find them using their printed-out gamecard.

Official gamecards are available for download online or can be picked up at Capitola Candy Co, located at 205 Capitola Avenue in Capitola Village. Once you've found an egg, have someone from the business stamp your gamecard.

Parts of Soquel Drive are expected to undergo improvement projects later this year to enhance safety and traffic flow. As an alternative route to Highway 1, Soquel Avenue/Drive has become more congested with vehicle traffic. However, the Soquel Drive Buffered Bike Lane & Congestion Mitigation Project is a key component of the Watsonville-Santa Cruz Multimodal Corridor Program (WSC-MCP) slated to get underway this summer and enhance safety for bicyclists and pedestrians and improve travel time reliability for bus riders and automobiles throughout. Planned improvements include buffered bike lanes, new crosswalks with flashing lights and stop light upgrades.

Registration is getting ready to open for Camp Capitola. Do you have a child or children between the ages of 4 to 14? Are you looking for a summer day camp that will provide your young ones with a variety of activities, including outdoor games, sports, arts & crafts, walking field trips and beach days? If so, consider Capitola Recreation's Camp Capitola, held at Jade Street Park and the Capitola Community Center during June and July. There are four two-week sessions planned, with morning, afternoon, or all-day camp options available, depending on the age group.

Camp Capitola's online registration period opens on Tuesday, March 14, at 8:30 am.

Plans are in the works to build a new playground at Jade Street Park.In November 2022, Capitola City Council members gave unanimous approval to allow public works staff to issue a request for proposals for the design of a universally accessible playground at the Capitola community park, which features kids' play areas as well as tennis courts and fields for soccer and baseball.According to a city staff report, the forthcoming playground is expected to cost about $1 million.The proposed project, located at 4400 Jade Street in Capitola, involves the creation of a universally accessible playground at Jade Street Park that meets Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards and is inclusive for all users.
