Mortgage rates dropped nearly a half a percent as inflation eased (slightly) and recent employment data suggested that the jobs market is finally starting to loosen up. With this in mind, there's a 50/50 chance that the Fed may 'pause' rate hikes in early May. Meanwhile, homebuyer demand is rebounding but supply isn't keeping pace. 🏡

February pending sales rose MoM for the 3rd straight month - despite mortgage rates rising from 6% to 7% during the month. Demand is that strong! The Case-Shiller home price index showed prices drifting lower again in January, but the pace of decline has slowed, and low inventory levels nationwide should keep prices supported. 🏡
