For the month of January, the PMC Employee Spotlight focused on Edwin Gonzales! Edwin is the Maintenance Supervisor at Port Crossing Apartments in Portage, IN, a 432-unit, 3-phase community that is an average of 30-years old. He joined the Pedcor team in December 2017. You might remember that Edwin was nominated and one of the final candidates for the Indiana Apartment Association Maintenance Supervisor of the Year in 2023! One glowing comment in the nomination included, “Edwin is always ready, willing, and able to jump in and help train new supervisors whether it’s troubleshooting a tricky HVAC unit; answering questions regarding a pool equipment issue; or providing guidance on a troublesome plumbing leak, he responds quickly with sound advice and suggestions. If he is unable to physically be there, he will offer to do a video call to walk the new supervisor through a challenging process.” Another of the nominations stated, “He excels in his leadership skills. Edwin is held in high regard by his team and his peers.”
Reflecting on his time with the company and what he has enjoyed the most, Edwin stated, “How much I have grown and learned while working at Pedcor.” Adding that he has learned the most about HVAC systems. And his fondest memories all involve time spent working with his coworkers.
When describing his job to a child, he would tell them, “People break stuff, and I go fix it.”
