The 2026 Serpentine Pavilion, titled a serpentine, in London’s Kensington Gardens. Designed by the Mexico City studio LANZA atelier, founded by Isabel Abascal and Alessandro Arienzo. The south wall uses a historic, wave-shaped English garden wall design called a crinkle-crackle wall that gets strength from its curves and uses fewer bricks than a flat wall. The light roof rests on rhythmic brick columns that look like a small grove of trees. I just read at the same time a small book about the curved wall by Rainard Graefe “Die undulierende Linie der Schönheit“ (only in German).
