You don't necessarily need 20% down to buy a home. In fact, some first-time homebuyers may only need to put 3.5%, or even less, down! There are lots of different options that can help you buy a home without the 20% down.
You don't need to have perfect credit. Many lenders have programs to help people with good, or even okay, credit buy a home.
