A lot of what makes a project team work well together happens long before the kickoff meeting.

It starts with making time for each other, listening to a different idea, and knowing there’s someone to call when the day gets complicated. Those everyday moments build trust, and our clients get to work with a team that already has it.

We put a lot of care into what it feels like to work at Abstract. So reading these anonymous comments from our Best Places to Work survey means a lot.

We can talk about our culture all day. Hearing it from the people who live it is better.

The finished space gets the photos.

But before that, there are hundreds of hours of planning, problem-solving, coordination, craftsmanship and people showing up every day to get it right.

Ahead of Labor Day, we’re celebrating the people behind the work. Our field teams, our trade partners and everyone whose skill turns a set of plans into something real.

The work doesn’t happen without you. Thank you!

Well, this is becoming a tradition we’re pretty proud of. 🎉

Abstract has been named one of the Dallas Business Journal’s Best Places to Work in North Texas for the fourth year in a row!

On October 8, we’ll find out exactly where we ranked. After three years in the top three, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t hoping to keep that streak alive.

Of course, rankings don’t make a workplace special…people do. This recognition belongs to our incredible A-Team, whose hard work, care, humor, and personality make Abstract so special!

Our team has never been too cool for a little team-building fun, and the Great Big Game Show did not disappoint. 😁

After 36 years with Abstract Construction, Dan Rhodes officially retired this month.

Dan joined Abstract in 1990 and spent many years as a superintendent before becoming our Quality and Safety Manager. He was known for his attention to detail, his high standards, and his belief that the little things mattered.

You could often find Dan sweeping a jobsite. Partly because a clean jobsite matters, but also because it gave him the chance to walk every inch of the space, observe the work, and catch issues before they became bigger problems. That was Dan. Always paying attention. Always doing things the right way.

He has been an integral part of Abstract for more than three decades and will be greatly missed.

Happy retirement, Dan. You have more than earned it. ❤️

From open floor to high-end law firm office.

We recently completed Spencer Fane’s 22,622-square-foot build-out inside Dallas Arts Tower, bringing together the precision, coordination, and finish quality these spaces demand.

Law firm interiors do not leave much room for “good enough.” Every transition, detail, and finish has to come together cleanly.

Proud of our team and grateful to Fortis Property Group for trusting Abstract with the transformation.

We were going to post something profound about craftsmanship, collaboration, and the built environment…

But it’s the day before a long weekend.

So instead, please enjoy some red, white, and blue project photos.

Happy 4th of July from Abstract!

Pretty cool to look up at 23Springs and know our team has had a hand in spaces throughout the building. Grateful for clients, partners, and teams like Granite Properties and Savills who continue to trust us with their environments.

Our team spent yesterday afternoon with a great group of people over at JLL.

They started with a shell space walk-through, then shifted straight into Cinco de Mayo mode.

Always good getting everyone together outside of the usual day-to-day and catching up.

Thanks to BKV Group, AEC, Inc., and Business Interiors for hosting with us.
